Cyanotype Workshop: Healing the Valentine Hangover – Part I & II
Saturday, February 15th
Sunday, February 16th
Time: 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Duration: 3 hours per class (a total of 6 hours)
Price: $110
Includes: All material, snacks and beverages
In this two-day Cyanotype Workshop, we’ll cure the aches of love, (el Mal de Amores) and transform it into something bluetiful. We will create cyanotypes using botanicals, unearthed objects, and ultraviolet light.
We’ll fall into an artistic trance and experiment with chemistry, personal artifacts and creativity. We’ll work with family memories, photographs, love letters, old jewelry, treasures, flowers, and whatever makes your heart beat.
I’ll share all the secrets I’ve learned over three years of blueprinting—even the darkest ones. I’ll show you all my experiments, failures, and masterpieces, and you’ll learn everything you need to know about cyanotype printing.
Throughout the weekend, we’ll use our hands, move our bodies, and shake up our imaginations. We’ll sun-print the heck out of the Valentine's Hangover through fun art work.
We’ll connect with nature and honour our stories and the people we love. We will invite reflection, grounding, and the flow of creativity. Expect a welcoming, friendly, and cozy environment full of inspiration, music and stories. No experience is needed, just curiosity—and maybe a bit of patience with the art process.
Blocked, blue or feeling like you need a break from it all? Perfect! This is exactly what you need—no judgment, just fun and a little artistic therapy.
I’ll have tea, cheese, crackers, olives, and many little treats to lift your spirits. (Maybe even some wine for the adventurous ones! And gifts for the spoiled.
These two afternoons will be full of wow moments—you’ll be amazed at what you create, how you feel, and what you uncover. We’ll pretend to be botanists for a bit, replicating old botanical prints like Anna Atkins while throwing around fancy plant talk—or maybe we’ll spiral into pop culture tangents. Who knows! By the end of it all, you’ll walk away transformed, at peace, and full of love.
